Is this a dumb pet peeve? Drivers who yield to me when i’m walking through a parking lot?
I hate it. I feel like an old man or something! Don’t yield to me! I’m used to getting sped by and honked at for even being in the car’s way in the first place! There’s no way to get it to stop. I usually either walk parallel to their path faking like i’m not trying to cross or I stop dead in my tracks and wait for them to pass by…. but then they stop too!! They start waving me on with their hands. What gives?

I think I understand what you’re saying 100%. It takes them maybe 2 seconds to safely drive past you but it takes you 10-15 seconds to cross their path by the time they stop and you KNOW they’re stopping because they see you and want you to cross their path.
I have a similar pet peeve: When I’m riding my bike (bicycle) on public roads, it bugs me when cars try to “yield” to me when they’ve got plenty of space to safely make a turn in front of me. By itself this wouldn’t bother me, but more often than not the car driver who waited unnecessarily then gets annoyed with me because it takes me so long to cross past where they’re planning to turn (after all, I’m maybe going 15-20mph max on a bike…).
I’ve had people actually yell at me to “hurry up” (and other obscenities that I won’t mention) after THEY waited on me for no reason. Like next time I’ll just be able to magically turn into Lance Armstrong and ride 50mph when I see that they want to turn but are stupidly waiting on me for no good reason.
