Can I have my dog in an electric fence while training them for hunting with a shock collar at the same time?
My boyfriend and I are getting a German Shorthair in a few weeks. He wants to train her to hunt and use a shock collar to train her. At the same time, we would like to get an electric fence for our house instead of a regular boarded fence. His concern is that if we do both, the electric fence shock will confuse the dog with a training/hinting shock. Is there anyone that has recommendations or has also been in this situation with a resolution? Please do not leave any information telling me that shock collars and fences are wrong.
A shock collar, if used properly, can be a good training tool, but MAKE SURE that it is set at the lowest frequency and do not train the dog with a hot fence.

She said German Short-hair POINTER and yes, idiot, those ARE hunting dogs. And fyi- A German Short-hair Pointer is a VERY common breed of HUNTING dog.
